Job summary

HCRG Care Group is seeking an experienced psychologist to join our Learning Disability Service in Swindon. The role focuses on highly specialist assessment, formulation and intervention for adults with complex needs, delivering consultation and supervision to colleagues within a multidisciplinary team.

You will work within a Positive Behaviour Support framework, maintain accurate records, and contribute to service development and CPD.

Qualifications

• DClinPsy or equivalent, HCPC registration and eligibility for Chartered Clinical Psychologist status.
• Experience in psychological assessment and intervention in complex cases.
• Specialist knowledge: Positive Behaviour Support and best practice for learning disabilities.
• Strong communication and ability to handle challenging situations.
• Ability to balance responsibilities and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Deliver highly specialist psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for adults with learning disabilities.
• Provide person-centred psychological support to individuals, families and carers across settings.
• Engage with people with communication difficulties and distress to support participation.
• Lead on supporting service users with challenging behaviours and promote wellbeing.
• Work within a Positive Behaviour Support framework to develop robust plans and risk management.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated care.
