A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Specialist Nurse with a focus on Haematology/Cancer nursing. The ideal candidate will possess significant leadership skills, extensive nursing experience, and a commitment to improving patient care. This role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams and providing specialized nursing care.
The post holder will be a qualified nurse with extensive experience in Haematology/Cancer nursing. They will demonstrate a commitment to career-long learning and possess highly developed leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
The post holder will work in partnership with other organizations, professionals, and specialties, referring patients appropriately (e.g., surgical and oncology colleagues, specialist palliative care, primary care, and social services).
As the key worker, the post holder will plan a systematic approach to assessing and managing patient care in consultation with MDTs and other organizations, addressing individual needs and involving patients and their carers in disease management. They will also encourage patient participation in care and service development.
The role of the specialist nurse includes policy and standards development, education, research, and professional development. The ultimate goal is to provide a cost-effective, efficient, high-quality service that meets the needs of the patient group.
