Clinical Nurse Specialist – Diabetes

Location – The Princess Grace Hospital, 42-52 Nottingham Pl, London W1U 5NY

This role is a 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

Salary: Competitive (dependent upon experience) + Benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits, and excellent career development).

The Princess Grace Hospital is currently recruiting for a Diabetes Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the team!

As the Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will:

  • Provide diabetic expertise across the hospital, educating patients, families, carers, and clinical staff.
  • Work to provide advanced care to patients and support nurses caring for diabetic patients.
  • Lead educational sessions and review policies with the team.
  • Train nurses on new, evidence-based procedures linked to diabetes.

You will be part of the Pan London Diabetes team, reporting to the Lead CNS for diabetes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide education, protocols, and competencies on relevant topics.
  • Offer specialist advice for patients and families pre-discharge.
  • Lead audits to ensure standards are maintained.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for diabetic patient care.
  • Promote nursing research and diabetes expertise development.
  • Educate diabetic patients and staff on managing diabetes.
  • Develop and implement diabetic teachings with relevant personnel.
  • Participate in developing and integrating national and local guidelines.

What you will bring:

  • NMC registered RN
  • Achieved or working towards a recognized diabetic-related postgraduate qualification (Essential).
  • Experience as a CNS in diabetes.
  • Experience with diabetic postgraduate qualification.
  • Clinical management experience.
  • Ability to analyze data and create reports.
  • Teaching, assessing, and/or mentorship qualification.
