An exciting substantive opportunity has arisen for anexceptional individual to join the Acute Care Division as Clinical Educator forthe Acute Medical Unit (AMU).
This is a rewarding and challenging role that will lead onthe educational and recruitment requirements of the nursing workforce on AMU.
As the Clinical Nurse Educator you will assist with staffdevelopment and contribute to developing and progressing staff, recruitment andretention and internal teaching programmes. The post holder will contribute toachieving the objectives of the AMU Key Performance Indicators and specialitycorporate objectives while working within the clinical governance framework.
The aim of the role is to maintain an effective educationalenvironment through coaching and staff development within the AAU; thusenabling the delivery of high quality and effective urgent care and improvingpatient experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working within aclinical setting in a large healthcare organisation with a passion fordeveloping a highly skilled nursing workforce.
Act as a role model and expert nurse providing in-depthhighly specialist clinical knowledge to colleagues.
Undertake clinical supervision of nursing colleagues on anindividual or group basis.
Act as a resource for health care professionals by beingvisible, available, and accessible for support and advice in relation to themanagement of patients within the AAU.
Ensure the effective and efficient use of physical andfinancial resources.
Lead in consultations on and contribute to the developmentof strategies for delivering effective care within a changing environment thatimproves the quality of care and health outcomes.
Responsible for monitoring health, safety and security ofself and promote best practice across the AAU.
Ensure systems are in place for risk assessment andminimisation in order that near misses and incidents are reported in accordancewith the accepted guidance.
When required, participate in the investigation ofincidents/complaints including the provision of detailed reports.
Act as an innovative, enthusiastic role model providingleadership, guidance and advice to staff on operational and professional issuespromoting an open, honest and transparent culture.
