Job summary

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current, valid NMC registration.
• Post-registration experience in disability, complex care, learning disability, or community nursing settings.
• Knowledge of clinical procedures for complex health needs (e.g. tracheostomy care, enteral feeding, catheter care, epilepsy management).
• Understanding safeguarding principles and mental capacity legislation.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with individuals who may have communication difficulties.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• A genuine commitment to person-centred, rights-based care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver skilled nursing care to individuals with complex and long-term conditions.
• Carry out clinical procedures such as PEG feeding, tracheostomy care, catheter care, wound management, and medication administration in line with current NMC guidelines.
• Undertake health assessments, monitor vital signs, and respond promptly to changes in condition, escalating concerns appropriately.
• Develop, review, and update individualised care and support plans with the individual, family, and wider care team.
• Administer and manage medications safely, including controlled drugs, in accordance with organisational policy and NMC standards.
