Job summary

Marathon Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our primary care care team. The MA will act as both a Medical Receptionist and a clinical assistant, delivering patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment and coordinating with a primary care physician to ensure smooth patient flow.

Responsibilities include taking vitals, performing phlebotomy, administering injections, assisting with procedures, managing front-desk tasks, and supporting patient education and engagement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a primary care setting.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• National or state MA certification/registration is strongly preferred; required where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to room and ensures exam rooms are cleaned and stocked.
• Reviews previous medical information and updates health data for the provider.
• Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, assist with procedures.
• Work with contracted labs for additional tests.
• Prepares and administers medications and immunizations as ordered by the Provider.
• Partners with the care team to develop patient care plans and address gaps.
• Front desk duties: scheduling, records requests, referrals, check-in/out.
• Records data in medical records according to guidelines.
• Process test results and communicate timely results to patients.
• Participates in outreach to patients to drive engagement.
• Maintains clinical and office supplies and equipment.
