Avondale Vet Group is seeking an experienced and proactive Clinical Lead Farm Vet passionate about supporting others and advancing their career. This role is ideal for someone committed to clinical excellence, mentoring, and coaching fellow vets, and nurturing future talent. While this position offers leadership responsibilities, it does not include management duties related to finances or operations such as P&L or budgeting. The focus is on maintaining clinical standards, supporting less experienced vets, and promoting best practices across our diverse farm caseload.

The full-time role involves up to 40 hours per week over 5 days, including a weekly half-day following a weekend on call. Working hours are 8:30am - 5pm, Monday to Friday. The current rota operates on a 1 in 4 schedule, with a day off in lieu after a weekend on call and additional pay for out-of-hours work. A pickup vehicle will be provided for work and personal use.

Our purpose-built facilities are just 40 minutes from Glasgow, located in Strathaven. Our farm team handles a varied caseload, from dairy to beef, sheep, and smallholding work. We are committed to professional growth, with team members holding qualifications such as the DBR. Established in 1921, Avondale boasts a rich history, including the first diagnosis and report of a left displaced abomasum (LDA).
Our team comprises 2 clinical directors, a practice manager, 20 vets, 7 RVNs, 3 SVNs, and 9 support staff. We foster a supportive environment that promotes both professional and personal development. Located near Strathaven, a charming market town with excellent amenities and easy access to Glasgow, it's a wonderful place to live and work.
