Job summary

Fortius Clinic is seeking a Bank Theatre Practitioner for Recovery & ECU to deliver high-quality perioperative care within our private hospital settings. You will lead clinical care, supervise junior staff, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe patient outcomes.

You will participate in on-call rotations and contribute to audits and service improvements. The role requires NMC/HCPC registration with 3+ years in high dependency or critical care, and experience managing Level

Qualifications

• Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC.
• Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in high dependency or critical care settings.
• Experience managing Level 1–3 patients in Recovery or ECU.
• Strong clinical reasoning, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.
• Experience supervising, mentoring, and supporting junior staff and students.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• ILS, ALS, and EPALS qualifications preferred or willingness to develop toward them.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality care for patients in Recovery and ECU, including Level 1–3 patients.
• Monitor, assess, and manage patients’ recovery following anaesthesia or critical care interventions.
• Work closely with Anaesthetists, Intensivists, Surgeons, and MDT members to deliver safe patient care.
• Participate in on-call and night shift rotations as required.
• Actively participate in emergency response teams, including allocated resuscitation roles and daily safety huddles.
• Conduct pre-use equipment checks and report faults promptly.
• Uphold infection prevention and control standards and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Maintain accurate, contemporaneous documentation of care in line with organisational policy.
• Ensure safe handling, storage, and administration of medications.
