Job overview

We are looking for an experienced and innovative clinician, with experience of quality improvement and staff management, to join our forward-thinking department. The clinical lead Physiotherapist role is influential in leading and delivering on the vision and direction of Physiotherapy in CF and bronchiectasis.

This position has a key clinical leadership and management role, championing and driving initiatives within the CF and bronchiectasis teams. Clinically the post holder will support and manage Physiotherapists and exercise physiologists and work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, including dieticians, nurses and respiratory consultants. Their clinical work will enable their team to deliver diagnostic and clinical care to CF and bronchiectasis patients, providing expert advice on complex clinical issues.

Main duties of the job

We are excited to be advertising for the role of Clinical lead Physiotherapist within CF and bronchiectasis at St Bartholomew’s hospital. This position has a key clinical leadership and management role, championing and driving initiatives within the CF and bronchiectasis teams. You will benefit from a supportive multi-disciplinary team and be able to access a wide range of education and development opportunities to further develop your potential within the four pillars of clinical practice, research, education and leadership. You will maintain a complex clinical caseload and be encouraged to drive innovation and research within your area.

Experience
  • Clinical experience of a wide range of respiratory specialities which includes adult Cystic Fibrosis or Non-CF Bronchiectasis
  • Expert knowledge of managing patients requiring Non-invasive ventilation, both acutely and for domiciliary use
  • Experience of managing senior and junior staff
  • Operational management in a complex environment
  • Successfully leading and implementing service improvement and change projects.
  • Working across and leading Trust wide projects
  • Ability to understand complex issues, problem solve and propose solutions
  • Experience of managing a budget
  • Experience at leading geographically dispersed teams
  • Experience of managing a research project
Skills
  • Fluent in the use of MS Office applications

Qualifications
  • Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Evidence of relevant masters level qualification or equivalent specialist experience
  • Member of the CSP
  • Evidence of CPD including attendance at post graduate course/training relevant to clinical specialty
  • Demonstrates a high level understanding of respiratory services
