Job summary

Creative Testing Solutions is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Specialist (CLS) for Bedford, UK, performing routine high complexity testing of biological specimens under supervision. The role covers CLS II–IV duties, adherence to SOPs, and strict confidentiality.

Responsibilities include working with customers and vendors, maintaining equipment, records, and ensuring quality service. Senior CLS staff provide mentorship and training as part of ongoing competency programs. Shift 1 details apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Biology or Chemistry required, or science-related degree meeting CFR 493.1489.
• CLIA requirements for High Complexity Testing.
• California testing requirements where required by law or SOP.
• Appropriate state licensure and/or certificate, where applicable.
• CLS Levels III and IV: at least 1 year of clinical lab experience; advanced knowledge for training and troubleshooting.
• CLS Level IVs: prior CTS experience and calibration/qualification proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine high complexity testing of biological specimens in compliance with SOPs and regulations.
• Maintains records, confidentiality, and documentation; notifies management of issues.
• Communicates with customers, vendors, and couriers to ensure quality service.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment; performs preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Resolves routine problems and escalates non-routine issues; participates in training and performance programs.
• Trains newer staff and provides mentorship to CLS levels II–IV.
