Job summary

The Owl Centre invites applications for a permanent full-time hybrid role as Clinical Governance Assurance Lead. You will work with the Governance Manager and senior teams to oversee governance, safeguarding, risk, incidents and patient safety, turning learning into practice improvements.

Salary up to £37,000. The role blends home and office work, with 2 days in Pontypool and 3 days remote. You will build systems, prepare reports and support a learning culture across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Knowledge or experience in clinical governance, safeguarding, risk or healthcare.
• Experience applying governance and assurance principles for oversight, reporting and learning.
• Experience with safeguarding, risk, incidents, complaints or patient safety in health or care services.
• Experience leading or supporting a team and preparing reports for assurance and service improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead governance and assurance activities across The Owl, advising colleagues and leaders.
• Coordinate incident review, escalation and learning, ensuring Duty of Candour compliance.
• Prepare governance data and assurance reports to support informed decision making.
• Support day-to-day clinical governance aspects of NEST, recording and progressing processes.
• Develop a document management system and promote timely review of policies.
• Support Governance Admin team with clear expectations and priorities.
• Conduct regular one-to-ones and meetings to coach and develop colleagues.
• Manage performance and conduct following Owl processes.
• Deliver governance and safeguarding training as required.
