Job summary

Agincare is seeking a Clinical Deputy Manager to lead the care team in a Sheffield-based care home. You will ensure safe, person-centred care, support the Registered Manager, and be ready to step in during their absence.

The role requires a strong focus on safeguarding, compliance, and continuous care improvement. You will work 42 hours per week, including alternate weekends, and bring a solid background in health and social care with an active NMC PIN.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 months right to work in the UK.
• Experience leading a team of care assistants and Registered Nurses.
• Active NMC PIN with no restrictions.
• QCF level 3 diploma or above in Health and Social Care.
• Good knowledge of the CQC key lines of enquiry and other regulatory frameworks.
• Available to work 42 hours per week, including alternate weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead the care team to deliver safe, supportive and person-centred care.
• Oversee inductions, supervision and support for new and existing team members.
• Perform care audits and trigger reviews when care provisions change.
• Liaise with family, care professionals and social workers to ensure holistic care.
• Monitor, report and investigate safeguarding risks; ensure mitigation is in place.
• Maintain accurate daily care notes, medication charts and meeting records.

A day in the life of a Deputy Manager

As Clinical Deputy Manager you will be responsible for leading the care team to ensure that the care delivered to our resident is safe, supportive and person-centred. You will ensure that these needs are regularly reviewed to ensure they meet their current requirements, and ensure the general standards of hygiene and cleanliness and equipment are maintained for their safety and wellbeing. You will support the Registered Manager in the day to day running of the home, assuming full capacity in their absence.

A typical day could include:

• Induction of new team members and the supervision and support to existing team members


• The completion of care audits to ensure good practice and trigger reviews in care provision for residents as needs change. Your care plans would be person-centred, with focus on dignity and individuality


• Liaising with family members, care professionals, social workers and the residents themselves to ensure a holistic and transparent care provision


• Monitor, report and investigate risks and events of safeguarding concern or harm and ensure processes are in place to mitigate and/or avoid these risks


• Ensuring administrative records such as daily care notes, medication charts and meeting notes are up to date
