Job summary

Priory is seeking a Clinical Deputy Home Manager to lead at Cleveland House in Banks, Southport, within a 32‑bed residential service for adults with ABI, PNC and complex needs. The role combines clinical leadership with operational management to ensure safe, high‑quality person‑centred care.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver compliant, evidence‑based care, oversee governance and audits, and support staff development in a compassionate, supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with active NMC registration.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and decision‑making skills.
  • Experience in a senior nursing leadership role.
  • Experience of clinical governance, audits, risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Desirable experience in ABI, tracheostomy, long‑term ventilation or neurological rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Home Manager to ensure service operates effectively and meets CQC standards.
  • Provide leadership and support to nursing and care teams to deliver person‑centred care.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Psychologists.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, colleagues and external professionals.
  • Lead regular team meetings and promote open, transparent communication.
  • Support recruitment, induction, development and retention of staff.
  • Oversee risk assessments, care planning and clinical governance processes.
  • Conduct audits and quality assurance activities for continuous improvement.
  • Support service development initiatives and best practice implementation.
  • Create a positive working environment where staff feel valued and empowered.

Cleveland House is seeking an experienced Clinical Deputy Home Manager to join our dedicated team.

Located in Banks, Southport, West Lancashire, Cleveland House provides residential support for up to 32 adults with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Progressive Neurological Conditions (PNC), and associated complex physical health needs. Situated within a residential community, our service offers a safe, supportive, and homely environment where residents can maximise their independence and quality of life.

Our multidisciplinary team is committed to delivering outstanding person-centred care. From personal care and slow-stream rehabilitation to meaningful social and therapeutic activities, we provide a range of services that promote physical, emotional, and psychological wellbeing.

We support individuals with:

  • Epilepsy
  • Communication difficulties
  • Dysphagia (swallowing difficulties)
  • Tracheostomy and long-term ventilation needs
  • Complex physical disabilities

As Clinical Deputy Home Manager, you will work alongside the Home Manager to provide strong clinical and operational leadership across the service. You will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality care whilst maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

You will be part of a compassionate and skilled team dedicated to helping residents achieve positive outcomes and lead fulfilling lives.

  • Supporting the Home Manager to ensure the service operates effectively and consistently meets CQC regulatory standards.
  • Providing leadership, guidance, and support to nursing and care teams to deliver exceptional person-centred care.
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including Nurses, Care colleagues, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Psychologists.
  • Building positive relationships with residents, families, colleagues, commissioners, and external professionals.
  • Leading regular team meetings and promoting open, transparent communication.
  • Supporting the recruitment, induction, development, and retention of staff.
  • Overseeing risk assessments, care planning, and clinical governance processes.
  • Conducting audits and quality assurance activities, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Supporting service development initiatives and implementing best practice.
  • Creating a positive working environment where staff feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

  • Experience working within neurological rehabilitation or complex care settings.
