Job summary

Serencroft Care Homes is seeking an experienced NMC Registered Nurse to join the management team as Deputy Manager at Gable Court Care Home in Romford. You will work with the Home Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure residents receive high-quality care.

You will lead nursing and care teams, ensure CQC compliance, support staff development, manage care planning and audits, and build strong relationships with residents and relatives.

Qualifications

• Experience as Senior Nurse, Clinical Lead, Unit Manager or Deputy Manager.
• Knowledge of CQC regulations and best practices in adult social care.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Committed to staff development and delivering quality care.

Responsibilities

• Support the Home Manager in the operational management of the home.
• Provide clinical and professional leadership to nursing and care teams.
• Promote a positive culture focused on dignity, respect and person-centred care.
• Oversee care planning, risk assessments and clinical governance processes.
• Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding requirements and company policies.
• Lead and support audits, quality assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with staff recruitment, supervision, training and performance management.
• Build positive relationships with residents, relatives and healthcare professionals.
• Manage staffing levels and contribute to rota planning.
• Respond to incidents, complaints and safeguarding concerns.
• Act as Home Manager in their absence.

Serencroft Care Homes is an independent care provider operating five residential and nursing homes across England, including Gable Court in Romford. We are seeking an experienced and motivated NMC Registered Nurse to join our management team as Deputy Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate clinical leader who is passionate about quality care, team development and achieving excellent outcomes for residents.

Role Overview

As a Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Home Manager to oversee the daily operations of the care home, ensuring that residents receive the highest standard of care. You will lead and support the team, ensuring compliance with CQC regulations and promoting a positive, person-centred culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Home Manager in the operational management of the home.

Requirements

• An NMC Registered Nurse (RGN) with a valid PIN.
• Experienced in a Senior Nurse, Clinical Lead, Unit Manager or Deputy Manager role.
• Knowledgeable about CQC regulations and current best practice within adult social care.
• A confident leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passionate about delivering exceptional care and achieving positive outcomes for residents.
• Organised, proactive and able to lead by example.
• Committed to supporting and developing staff to achieve excellence in care delivery.
