Job summary

Serencroft Care Homes is seeking an experienced Home Manager to lead Gable Court in Romford. You will oversee day-to-day operations, drive quality of care, ensure regulatory compliance and manage the budget while fostering a safe, compassionate, person-centred environment.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, build relationships with residents, families, commissioners and the Serencroft leadership team, and champion the group's CQC standards and B Corp commitments.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Registered Manager within a CQC-regulated care or nursing home.
• Track record of leading a care home to strong CQC outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding and health and social care legislation.
• Excellent leadership, communication and people-management skills.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Act as the home's CQC Registered Manager, holding responsibility for regulatory compliance and statutory notifications.
• Lead, motivate and develop the home's staff team, including recruitment, supervision, appraisal and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with CQC fundamental standards and all relevant health and social care legislation.
• Drive continuous improvement in care quality and safety, aiming for strong CQC ratings.
• Manage the home's budget, occupancy and resources effectively.
• Oversee care planning, risk assessment and safeguarding practices across the home.
• Build and maintain relationships with residents, families, commissioners and stakeholders.
• Lead on internal audits, external inspections and quality assurance processes.
• Champion Serencroft's values and B Corp commitments in daily operations.
• Report regularly to the senior leadership team on performance and compliance.

About Us

Serencroft Care Homes is an independent care provider operating five residential and nursing homes across England, including Gable Court in Romford. We are CQC-regulated and B Corp certified, and we work in partnership with NHS commissioners and local universities to deliver high-quality, person-centred care. We are looking for an experienced, values-led Home Manager to lead Gable Court and build on its position as a safe, high-quality home for residents and a great place to work for staff.

The Role

As Home Manager, you will hold overall responsibility for the day-to-day leadership, operational performance and quality of care at Gable Court, acting as the home's CQC Registered Manager. You'll lead a multidisciplinary team, manage the home's budget and resources, and be the driving force behind a culture of safe, compassionate, person-centred care — working closely with residents, families, commissioners and the wider Serencroft leadership team.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Registered Manager within a CQC-regulated care or nursing home — essential
• NVQ/QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or working towards equivalent qualification)
• Track record of leading a care home to strong CQC outcomes
• Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding practices and relevant health and social care legislation
• Excellent leadership, communication and people-management skills
• Right to work in the UK
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
