Job description

A Vacancy at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.

We have a 0.6 WTE vacancy for a Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist. The position is part of adult community psychological services in Mid Essex. We welcome newly qualified applicants who can be initially appointed at a band 7 with preceptorship to 8A in due course.

We are looking for someone interested in developing expertise in specific psychological interventions aimed at reducing risk and addressing emotional dysregulation, preferably Dialectical Behaviour Therapy or Schema Therapy. This vacancy offers potential funded training opportunities, available after 6 months of successful probation, to be utilized within 2 years of appointment. Successful candidates are expected to commit to staying in the role for a minimum of 3 years post-appointment. The chosen training should align with the service needs and be approved by the service manager.

ACP services are integrated within MDTs covering a broad geographical area, with bases in Chelmsford and Braintree. You will work alongside professionals from diverse backgrounds, providing various psychological interventions to service users with complex and severe presentations under community care. The post-holder will be expected to become proficient in delivering one or more evidence-based psychological interventions (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy or Schema Therapy) and contribute to managing and running these programmes. Skills in multidisciplinary treatment planning and fostering respectful, collegial relationships across teams are essential.
