Job overview

Oxleas are seeking to recruit a Band 7 Clinical or Counselling Psychologist (preceptorship) to join one of our established and MDT integrated secondary care psychological therapies teams. We have a new vacancy for a full-time permanent position within the ADAPT Team (Anxiety, Depression, Affective disorders, Personality disorders and Trauma). The team is based in Orpington, serving the London Borough of Bromley's east locality. This is essentially the non-psychosis community mental health team for 18-65yr olds.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic psychologist to join a team that is currently developing new and innovative ways of working with people with complex emotional needs. This includes ‘whole team approach’ interventions such as SCM (Structured Clinical Management), alongside more established ways of working with attachment difficulties and complex trauma (i.e. MBT, CBT, CAT, Psychodynamic, EMDR, CFT, Systemic & 3rd wave approaches). Oxleas has a strong tradition in promoting psychological therapies and embraces multi-modal formulation-based approaches.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will offer psychological assessment, individual and group-based interventions using a range of different models. Personal therapeutic interests and specialty development are actively encouraged and supported, both via formal training (e.g. CBT, CAT, EMDR, SCM) as well as established specialist supervision forums provided across the Trust.

The psychological therapies team is inclusive of different professions, including Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, Art, Systemic, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapists and Assistant Psychologists and Trainees. We are proud of the diversity of modalities offered by the team and we value integrative ways of working.

Regular reflective practice is offered to the psychological therapies team alongside individual supervision. Oxleas has a strong history in staff support and professional development, offering a range of CPD opportunities. Oxleas has a long-standing relationship with clinical and counselling doctorate programs in taking trainees and developing the wider workforce, providing opportunities to develop supervision skills.

The successful post holder will have experience of working within NHS settings and will work closely with the MDT as well as liaising with a wide range of agencies. This post is ideal for newly qualified psychologists wanting to join an established and supportive psychology team and similarly suitable for an existing band 7 wanting to diversify their experience.
