As our services continue to expand nationwide, we are seeking an experienced Clinical Compliance & Audit Lead to join our Governance Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a clinically qualified healthcare professional to lead our clinical audit and compliance programme, ensuring our services continue to deliver safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led care.

About The Role

As the Clinical Compliance & Audit Lead, you will be responsible for leading and developing HealthHarmonie's clinical audit, governance and compliance framework across multiple services.

Working collaboratively with Clinical Leads, Operational Teams and Senior Leadership, you will ensure compliance with NHS, CQC and contractual requirements while driving a culture of continuous quality improvement. Through robust clinical audit, governance reporting and quality assurance, you will play a key role in improving patient outcomes, reducing risk and supporting clinical excellence across the organisation.

This is a strategic, yet hands-on role, requiring excellent clinical knowledge, strong analytical skills and the ability to influence stakeholders across a national healthcare organisation.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Governance & Compliance
  • Lead the organisation's clinical compliance framework across all services.
  • Ensure compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards, NHS guidance, NICE standards and other relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Support the development, implementation and review of clinical policies, governance frameworks and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assist with CQC inspections, commissioner visits and contractual quality assurance requirements.
  • Support the review of, identifying trends and supporting the implementation of effective corrective actions.
  • Maintain governance documentation, risk registers and quality assurance records.
Clinical Audit
  • Develop, implement and oversee the annual clinical audit programme.
  • Plan, conduct and review clinical audits across multiple services.
  • Analyse audit findings to identify trends, risks and opportunities for service improvement.
  • Produce comprehensive audit reports, action plans and governance updates.
  • Monitor progress against agreed actions and coordinate re-audits to ensure improvements have been sustained.
  • Present audit findings and quality reports to senior leadership and Clinical Governance meetings.
Quality Improvement
  • Champion a culture of continuous quality improvement across HealthHarmonie.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical and operational teams to improve clinical standards and patient outcomes.
  • Use audit data and performance metrics to drive evidence-based improvements.
  • Promote learning from audits, incidents, complaints and patient feedback.
  • Provide expert advice on clinical governance, compliance and best practice.
About You

We are looking for an experienced healthcare professional who is passionate about improving patient safety, strengthening clinical governance and delivering high-quality healthcare services.

Essential Criteria
  • Significant experience in clinical governance, compliance and clinical audit within an NHS or independent healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of CQC Fundamental Standards, NHS governance frameworks, NICE guidance and healthcare regulations.
  • Proven experience leading clinical audit programmes, managing audit cycles and driving continuous quality improvement.
  • Experience analysing audit findings, producing governance reports and implementing effective action plans and re-audits.
  • Excellent understanding of patient safety, clinical risk management and quality assurance, with the ability to identify and escalating risks appropriately.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to improve clinical standards.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, travel between sites and maintain accurate governance documentation.
Desirable
  • Registered healthcare professional with current NMC or GMC registration [MU2] and a clinical background as a Registered Nurse or Medical Doctor.
  • Qualification or formal training in Clinical Audit, Quality Improvement or Healthcare Governance.
  • Experience working within NHS commissioned or independent healthcare services.
  • Experience supporting CQC inspections, commissioner visits or external regulatory audits.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards or quality management systems.
