Job summary

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (ESHT) is seeking a qualified Clinical Coding Trainer to lead structured training across the Trust, from induction to specialist workshops. The role involves developing and delivering National Clinical Coding Standards training and mentoring coders at various levels.

You will work with the Head of Clinical Coding to continually improve training services, ensure adherence to national quality standards, and support coders as they progress toward ACC and beyond.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering structured training programmes and workshops.
• Ability to mentor coders at all levels through ACC or equivalent.
• Strong grounding in national coding standards and governance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured induction programmes for new staff.
• Create and facilitate specialty workshops and refresher sessions.
• Provide mentorship to senior coders and those pursuing ACC.
• Identify learning needs and develop SMART action plans to improve coding quality.
• Offer authoritative guidance on complex coding queries under ICD-10/OPCS-4.
