CapGen works closely with its clients to deliver investment solutions, ranging from managing portfolios (multi-asset or single asset class sleeves), advisory services (single stock, multi-asset or total wealth) and consolidated reporting.

This job opportunity is for the role of Client Solutions / Operations Analyst working in both the Client Solutions and Portfolio Operations team. You will be responsible for end-to-end operational activities required to deliver these investment solutions, ensuring data within the system are accurate and up to date including reconciliations, running/checking reports, the execution/booking of trades and cash management. You will also be required to have an intimate knowledge of all CapGen clients, their legal structures, the banks they work with, and answer queries and complete documentation on their behalf.

You will gain exposure across all asset classes in a multi-manager environment, with a high focus on the alternative asset classes: hedge funds, private equity, real estate, commodities and derivatives. You will be part of the team which builds processes, data capture requirements and external reports which deliver the investment solutions to the end client.

The role will require excellent quantitative, analytical, technical and interpersonal skills as the role will involve interaction with teams across the business.

This is an entry-level position and, subject to aptitude and performance over several years, offers a variety of paths for future progression.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities

The role will be responsible for:

Daily gathering and saving key data points and emails from a shared inbox.
Assisting with the execution of CapGen client trades across numerous custodian banks.
Day to day responsibility for updating CapGen’s internal operating system with trade bookings and financial/economic data.
Reconciliation investigation and resolution.
Take part in projects across both the Client Solutions and Portfolio Operations teams.
Having a good understanding of clients, their restrictions, their legal structures, and the banks they work with.
Be responsible for maintaining progress of team tasks and ensuring that they are up to date.
Have a broad knowledge of the functions within CapGen and the associated investment infrastructure of our clients.
Complete documentation on behalf of clients and liaise with funds to ensure subscriptions are accepted in a timely manner.
Liaising with Custodian banks on matters when required.
Assisting with the onboarding of new clients.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

High quality degree, (at least 2.1), with strong quantitative skills.
Open mindedness, intellectual curiosity with demonstrable, keen interest in a career in financial services.
An analytical individual who is keen to learn from the bottom-up and make the most of a broad-based role.
Attention to detail.
Working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office products is essential.
Good interpersonal and presentational skills.
