A leading independent media agency is seeking an experienced Account Director to join their client services team. This role involves managing key accounts, leading a talented team, and driving strategic initiatives while focusing on results-driven relationships. EXCLUSIVELY FOR TENCIL CANDIDATES: you will receive a 50-50 split of our fee (5% of your starting salary) as a bonus over your first year. Delivering a more rewarding experience for the work you put in through the interview process and incentivising all the great work you will do in year one!

The Opportunity
As the Account Director, you will be a pivotal leader within the client management team. This role offers a stimulating mix of responsibilities, working across their flagship not-for-profit account and two commercial accounts (D2C CPG & FMCG) e ncompassing brand and performance-focused initiatives. You'll quickly establish strong client relationships, lead a talented team, and guide the strategic direction of your accounts while championing innovation and creativity.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong balance of leadership capabilities and hands-on involvement in campaign strategy, planning, delivery, and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Your daily activities will involve directly managing a team, ensuring that all deliverables consistently meet high standards of quality and precision. You will serve as the primary client contact, collaborating closely with internal strategy, insight, AV, and digital teams to provide strategic guidance and drive exceptional client outcomes. A crucial aspect of this role is supporting the training and development of your team, fostering a culture of continuous growth and learning.
You will manage key accounts, some with long-standing relationships and others representing exciting new partnerships. This includes serving as the central liaison between the agency and client leads, building and nurturing robust relationships to ensure client needs are met and they receive unparalleled service. Internally, you will be responsible for budget management and forecasting, ensuring resource allocation aligns with contractual agreements and that key performance indicators and objectives are consistently met.

Deep understanding of media terminology and concepts: Fully conversant with digital media and capable of thinking across the entire media mix.
Proven experience in people management and team development.
Strong commercial acumen: Demonstrating the ability to manage and grow revenues.
Inspirational leadership: The capacity to inspire both clients and internal teams through your work.
