Job summary

CRA Consulting is seeking an experienced Client Manager in the United Kingdom to lead a small accounting team and manage client relationships. You will oversee year-end accounts, bookkeeping, VAT and tax compliance, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

As a Client Manager, you will mentor staff, optimize workloads, and build strong client partnerships while collaborating with the management team to deliver exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Experienced accountant with a professional accounting qualification.
• Confident dealing directly with clients.
• Experienced in accounts, bookkeeping, VAT and tax.
• Organised, commercially aware and able to manage competing deadlines.
• A confident communicator with excellent attention to detail.
• Comfortable reviewing work and providing guidance to others.
• Already managing a team, or ready to take that next step with some previous experience supervising or managing others.
• Proactive, approachable and keen to develop their career within a forward-thinking practice.

Responsibilities

• Managing and developing a small team of accounting staff.
• Planning and overseeing team workloads and workflows.
• Reviewing and overseeing the preparation of year-end accounts.
• Overseeing bookkeeping, VAT returns and tax compliance.
• Reviewing work to ensure accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as a key point of contact.
• Building strong, professional relationships with clients.
• Supporting and mentoring team members, helping them develop their technical and professional skills.
• Identifying workflow improvements and helping to ensure the practice operates efficiently.
• Working closely with the wider management team to deliver an excellent service to clients.
