Job summary

T&W Accounts in Birmingham seeks a Client Manager (Accountancy) to oversee a portfolio of business clients, serving as their primary contact for day-to-day accounting, tax, and advisory queries. The role is full-time and hybrid, with home-based flexibility part of the week.

You will prepare and review statutory accounts, management accounts, VAT returns, payroll submissions, and corporate and personal tax returns, while advising on budgeting, cashflow and forecasting and supporting business

Qualifications

• Strong technical accountancy skills, including preparation and review of statutory accounts, limited company accounts, VAT returns, payroll, and tax compliance.
• Experience with management accounts, budgeting, cashflow forecasting, and business forecasting to support clients’ strategic financial decisions.
• Proficiency with digital accounting tools and cloud-based software, and confidence working in a technology-enabled environment.
• Excellent client management and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to business owners and stakeholders.
• Solid organisational and time-management abilities, including managing multiple client deadlines, maintaining accurate records, and working both independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant professional qualification or progression (e.g., AAT, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent experience in practice) and up-to-date knowledge of UK accounting and tax regulations.
• Experience in an accountancy practice environment and a client-focused mindset, with a practical, friendly, and approachable working style.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of business clients and act as their main day-to-day contact for accounting and advisory queries.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts, management accounts, VAT returns, payroll submissions, and tax returns.
• Provide proactive financial guidance on budgeting, cashflow, and forecasting, and support clients with business planning and financial consultancy.
