Job summary

Flint Bishop Solicitors in Derby/Leeds is expanding its Compliance team to lead centralised client and matter inception. The role focuses on AML and CDD activities, plus driving the design and adoption of a new onboarding operating model across the firm.

The post holder will act as a subject matter expert, collaborate with legal teams, IT and Compliance, and escalate higher-risk matters and regulatory concerns. A hybrid, full-time position with training and support is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in legal compliance, AML, client onboarding, risk or matter inception roles.
• Knowledge of AML legislation, CDD requirements, and sanctions compliance.
• Understanding conflicts of interest principles and risk assessment in a legal environment.

Responsibilities

• Review new client/matter requests for completeness.
• Conduct conflict checks and escalate issues.
• Open and maintain client/matter records in CMS.
• Perform CDD, beneficial ownership, sanctions, PEP and adverse media checks.
• Assess client/matter risk ratings and escalate high-risk matters.
• Support information barriers and maintain onboarding records for audit/regulatory purposes.
• Provide guidance on AML requirements and onboarding procedures.
• Deliver training and support to staff involved in onboarding and compliance.
