Job summary

Eversheds Sutherland is seeking a Client Opening Team member to support AML due diligence and client onboarding across global jurisdictions. You will conduct research, build risk profiles and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while maintaining high professional standards.

Based in Leeds, the role offers structured training, development opportunities and exposure to a global law firm’s operations within a supportive Risk Team environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Ability to conduct thorough internet and database research.
• Proactive, able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure new client submissions or reactivations comply with AML legislation and firm policies.
• Conduct thorough due diligence on clients and third-party payers.
• Assess client and matter risk and categorize per firm procedures.
• Analyse due diligence data and escalate AML issues to senior staff.
• Assist in ongoing monitoring tasks within the firm’s programme.
• Process third-party payment requests per policy.
• Screen clients against sanctions lists and escalate issues.
• Record and maintain client due diligence progress.
• Provide efficient support to legal teams and advise where needed.
• Assist in BAT projects as required.
