Job summary

LR Legal Recruitment is assisting a well-established Bristol law firm to recruit an AML Manager. The role is based in Bristol with hybrid working and periodic travel to Bath and Swindon.

You will lead and develop the AML function, driving improvements and ensuring robust client due diligence and regulatory compliance. You will oversee sanctions/PEP checks, implement efficient processes, manage data quality, and partner with fee-earners and stakeholders to ensure smooth onboarding and risk

Qualifications

• Strong AML/CDD and client due diligence experience within law or financial services.
• Experience leading and developing a team in AML.
• Knowledge of AML legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to analyse complex documentation and provide recommendations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Degree-level qualification; AML-related qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead client and matter inception and centralised AML processes, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Manage and develop the Work Acceptance Team for high performance and continuous improvement.
• Oversee AML policies, processes and controls.
• Provide guidance on complex due diligence, sanctions and PEPs.
• Maintain data quality, reporting and auditing of client/matter data.
• Support audits and manage third-party AML screening and identity verification systems.
• Identify and implement improvements across the AML function.
• Contribute to wider strategic initiatives and collaborate with fee-earners.
• Maintain team procedures, guidance and training materials.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure compliant client onboarding.
