Job summary

Howett Thorpe is seeking a Client Bookkeeper to join its growing bookkeeping team in Camberley. You will take ownership of day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients, maintaining accurate records and meeting deadlines.

You'll work directly with clients, supporting their needs and progressing toward AAT qualification with study support and ongoing training. The role offers hybrid working and a clear route to future development within practice.

Qualifications

• Previous bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice.
• Experience managing bookkeeping for multiple clients.
• Good understanding of day-to-day bookkeeping processes.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good organisation and time management skills.
• Confident communication skills and a professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage bookkeeping for a portfolio of practice clients.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Process sales and purchase invoices, payments and receipts.
• Complete bank reconciliations.
• Assist with VAT returns and other bookkeeping-related deadlines.
• Resolve day-to-day client queries.
• Communicate with clients regarding outstanding information.
• Ensure bookkeeping work is completed accurately and on time.
• Assist the wider accounts team where required.
