Job description

We are recruiting for an accountancy practice based in Telford. They are looking for a Client Accountant to be responsible for accounts preparation for a range of limited companies and sole traders.

Working as part of a friendly team your responsibilities will include:

  • Manual double entry bookkeeping.
  • Bank reconciliations.
  • Preparing working papers to trial balance level, including prepayments, accruals and depreciation.
  • Communicating with clients to resolve accounting/bookkeeping issues.
  • Completing VAT returns.
  • Completing and submitting tax returns.
  • Drafting financial statements for various business entities.
  • Communicating with HMRC online to set up PAYE schemes and VAT registrations.
  • Communicating with HMRC both by telephone and online, to resolve queries.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong experience in an accountancy practice, with a proven track record in accounts preparation and tax compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, including Xero or QuickBooks.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 + bonus
