Job description

Client Manager/Portfolio Manager opportunity available within a highly successful firm of Chartered Certified Accountants based in Aylesbury. The firm provides accounting, tax, payroll, and advisory services to businesses and individuals. They work closely with their clients and act for a broad range of business and personal clients.

They pride their practice on having both the technical and interpersonal skills to address each client's unique accounting needs and build lasting relationships.

They are seeking an experienced Client Manager to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis. This key role involves managing client relationships, preparing financial statements, developing new business, overseeing service delivery, and supporting team growth.

Client Accountant Job Overview
  1. Manage a portfolio of key client accounts, including relationships, communication, administration, and billing.
  2. Prepare internal accounts and management reports for directors.
  3. Oversee accounting department operations, including planning and monitoring.
  4. Review work of the team, including accounts, tax returns, for companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
  5. Supervise a team of Accountants, including experienced senior staff and assistants.
  6. Prepare financial statements, tax computations, and management reports for key clients.
  7. Contribute to business development through networking, maintaining client satisfaction, and identifying new opportunities.
  8. Lead client meetings and respond promptly to queries.
  9. Oversee staff training and development needs.
  10. Identify and implement process improvements.
  11. Ensure compliance with all accounting standards and tax regulations.
Client Accountant Job Requirements
  1. ACA/ACCA qualified with 5+ years of experience, including 2+ years in a management position with similar responsibilities.
  2. Knowledge of UK accounting standards, tax, regulations, and practices.
  3. Experience using IRIS Accounts Production, Sage Line 50, Sage Payroll.
  4. Proficient with Xero, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office.
  5. Strong leadership and team management skills.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
  8. Commercial acumen.
  9. Effective time management and ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
  10. Eligibility to work in the UK without restriction.
Salary & Benefits
  • £40,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus bonus potential.
  • 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
