This role focuses on projects primarily involving new builds and refurbishments, with a strong emphasis on residential sector projects.

The business operates nationwide, but is specifically seeking a Clerk of Works to manage sites in the Southern region. You will collaborate with 4 other Clerks of Works, sharing sites based on location and capacity.

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Conduct regular site visits, mainly in the south of the UK, including but not limited to Essex, Kent, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, and Hertfordshire.
2. Inspect contractors' work according to specifications, plans, and building regulations.
3. Write reports, including uploading photos.
4. Identify and report defects.
5. Handle client-facing responsibilities with demanding clients.

Desired Skills and Experience

1. Experienced construction professional with a background in roles such as clerk of works, building control/warranty inspector, or site manager.
2. Previous experience in the residential sector is preferred.
3. Good knowledge of building regulations and the ability to read construction drawings.
4. Strong report writing skills, with the possibility of providing evidence during the interview process.
5. Excellent client-facing skills, with demonstrable experience being advantageous.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

1. CSCS Card or equivalent.
2. A formal qualification in construction, engineering, or project management is beneficial but not mandatory.
