Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse, and exciting east-London borough. Our work is driven by our commitment to changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. We have developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.
We are one of the fastest-growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open spaces, and rapid transport connections into central London.
As soon as people walk out of their front door, they see, feel, and use the Redbridge highway network.
Do you want to help shape, develop, and contribute to Redbridge’s growth by helping our communities travel safely and efficiently around the borough for work or leisure? Our objective is to create a safe and seamless network of travel, whether walking, cycling, driving, or using public transport.
We are seeking a dedicated Traffic Engineering Clerk of Works to play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality highway construction and maintenance works across our network. You will be responsible for inspecting works on site, supervising contractors, monitoring compliance with specifications, standards, and health & safety requirements, and ensuring that all works—planned or reactive—are completed to the required standard. A crucial part of your role will involve providing technical feedback on repairs, identifying defects, and ensuring prompt remedial action. You will work closely with our Traffic Engineering, Road Safety, Highways Engineering, Flooding, and Street Lighting teams, contributing to the safety, quality, and resilience of our roads, pavements, and transport infrastructure. This is a highly visible role where your input will directly impact the everyday journeys of our residents and commuters.
At Redbridge Highways, we are passionate about innovation and exploring new solutions to make a real difference in residents’ lives. Our high-performing team is known for its creativity and resilience, continuously seeking new methods and technologies to enhance our borough’s infrastructure.
Join us and be part of a team that values your contributions, provides support and resources for your career growth, fosters a collaborative environment, and is dedicated to making Redbridge a better place for everyone.
