Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is recruiting for a Clerical Radiology Department Assistant to provide a welcoming, caring and efficient service in a busy radiology department. You will greet patients, check IDs and records, and manage appointment bookings, both for walk-ins and scheduled visits, ensuring accurate data entry and courteous communication with patients and staff.

The role requires public-facing experience, strong keyboard/data input skills, and experience in office

Qualifications

• Must be experienced in dealing with the public.
• Accurate keyboard and data input skills.
• Some experience of office and/or reception work is required.
• Hospital experience would be an advantage but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and check ID, demographics and accuracy of hospital records.
• Book the arrival of patients on the computer with appointments and walk-ins.
• Communicate effectively and politely with patients, their families/carers, hospital staff and outside agencies.
• Provide correct, accurate and factual information to patients by phone and in person, respecting patient dignity and equal opportunities.
