Job summary

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Radiographic Assistant to join the Community Radiology Service at Lewes Victoria Hospital. The role is clinical and administrative (40/60 split), with outreach to ensure referrals follow local processes and imaging appointments meet national waiting times.

You will greet patients, input data into CRIS, act as ultrasound chaperone when required, and assist radiographers in the x-ray room while maintaining high quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in an NHS setting is essential.
• First point of contact with patients attending community radiology.
• Input patient data and maintain accurate records using the Radiology information system (CRIS).
• Chaperone during ultrasound examinations and assist radiographers as needed.

Responsibilities

• To act as first contact with patients attending the community radiology departments, greeting them and confirming patient data.
• To input patient data and maintain accurate records using the Radiology information system (CRIS).
• To act as chaperone during ultrasound examinations as required and to assist radiographer and sonographer with patient management during examination.
• Ensure all imaging sessions are utilised at the Radiology site, escalating capacity and demand issues as needed.
