Job summary

Kirklees Council is advertising for frontline LGV/refuse vehicle drivers based at Vine Street Depot, Huddersfield. The role involves driving refuse vehicles up to LGVs, collecting household waste and supporting cleansing duties. You will follow safety rules and may supervise others, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Drive refuse vehicles in line with traffic regulations and health and safety rules.
• Assist in collecting waste and operating lifting equipment.
• Supervise and train staff, provide feedback.
• Maintain driver records and timetables using In-Cab data systems.

Responsibilities

• Drive refuse vehicles up to and including LGVs within legal requirements.
• Work solo or in a team to carry out cleansing duties and household waste collection.
• Ensure proper use of lifting equipment and disposal arrangements.
• Follow routes and manage schedules; assist intended pickups and assisted collections.
