Job summary

Leicester City Council is seeking an LGV driver to support the Cleansing Services in keeping streets clean across the city. You will drive vehicles, remove debris in designated areas and perform routine vehicle maintenance on a rota that includes weekends.

The role requires an LGV licence, good health and safety awareness, and the ability to complete paperwork. Flexible working and generous leave are available as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Experience driving LGV
• Awareness of health and safety practices
• Ability to undertake physical work and manual handling
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work in a team and respond politely to the public

Responsibilities

• Drive across the city to remove and dispose of debris and refuse at designated sites.
• Carry out routine maintenance of vehicles including oil, water, tyres, batteries and body checks.
• Replace worn brushes, vacuum skirts and filters on vehicles.
