Job summary

Sefton Council is seeking a Street Cleansing Driver to undertake cleansing tasks across the borough, including litter, detritus, weed and fly tipping removal. The role is based mainly at Hawthorne Road Depot but may operate at Formby and Southport depots as required.

Responsibilities include driving the vehicle (up to 7.5 tonnes), carrying out checks, completing paperwork, loading and unloading, and reporting faults. Permanent, full-time, 39 hours weekly with a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Reliable, punctual and good attendance.
• A willingness to work overtime to meet service needs.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate the assigned vehicle up to 7.5 tonnes gross vehicle weight.
• Carry out vehicle checks and routine maintenance.
• Report vehicle defects or incidents to supervisors immediately.
• Load and unload goods using mechanical aids and ensure supplies are available.
• Complete required paperwork and keep records up to date.
• Carrying out cleansing tasks such as litter, detritus, weeds and fly tipping removal.
• Work across council depots as required, with a base at Hawthorne Road Depot.
