Job summary

Sefton Council is seeking a reliable Cleansing Operative to join the cleansing team across Formby and Southport depots. You will undertake litter removal, detritus and waste clearance, operate cleaning equipment and assist with vehicle checks. The role allows work across depots with overtime to meet service needs.

An incremental salary progression is offered within Grade C, SCP 4, and there is access to the Local Government Pension Scheme and 28 days annual leave.

Qualifications

• Reliability and punctuality are essential.
• Ability to handle manual cleaning tasks.
• Willingness to work at multiple depots as required.

Responsibilities

• Undertake cleansing activities such as litter removal and detritus clearance.
• Operate cleaning equipment and assist with vehicle checks.
• Record activities via paper or electronic systems as required.
• Be prepared to work across Formby and Hawthorne Road depots and overtime if needed.
