Job summary

Sefton Council is seeking cleansing operatives to undertake routine litter removal, detritus and waste collection across the Borough, with duties at Tulketh and Hawthorne Road depots and potential placement in other areas. Training will be provided and safety protocols followed.

You will operate cleaning equipment, assist with fly tipping removal, manual handling, and use mobile technology for records and communications.

Qualifications

• Ability to work across multiple depots within the Borough
• Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures
• Comfort with manual handling and operating basic cleaning equipment

Responsibilities

• Collect and dispose of refuse and waste in line with defined standards
• Brush and clean defined areas using appropriate equipment
• Operate compression mechanisms and cleaning tools
• Load and unload vehicles manually or with mechanical aids
• Demonstrate reliable punctuality and good attendance
• Use mobile technology to record and communicate as required
