Job summary

Huawei Research and Development UK Limited in Ipswich is seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to join our cleanroom fabrication team. You will contribute to development, characterization and baseline stability of wafer fabrication modules for advanced semiconductor technologies.

You will execute process recipes across photolithography, etching and deposition, perform metrology and defect analysis, and support tool baselining and documentation.

Qualifications

• PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Chemistry or closely related field.
• Hands-on cleanroom experience in semiconductor fabrication is required.
• Experience with DoE and SPC methods and data analysis is essential.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Execute cleanroom process workflows across multiple modules (photolithography, etching, deposition).
• Develop and tune process recipes; maintain baseline for RIE/ICP-RIE and deposition steps.
• Perform wafer inspection, metrology, and defect analysis using SEM and optical tools.
• Support tool baselining, health checks, calibration, and equipment qualification.
• Apply DoE and SPC to optimize process windows and data analysis.
