Job summary

Cambridge Science Park is seeking a hands-on Operations teammate to help build world class products for defence and space in a Lean Manufacturing environment. You will assemble, inspect and test micro components in a clean room, analyse data and contribute to prototypes and production standards.

The role involves supporting Lean culture through documentation, testing, calibration and cross-functional collaboration with engineers and management to ensure on-time delivery and high quality.

• Evidence of strong practical skills is essential.
• Ability to understand and implement manufacturing processes.
• Able to interpret engineering proposals and follow work instructions.
• Create work instructions if required; work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• As part of the Operations Team, you will assist in assembly, inspection and test of micro-components in a clean room.
• Develop and create manufacturing standards and associated documentation.
• Engage in projects to drive Lean Manufacturing culture and process improvements.
• Test products or subassemblies for function or quality; troubleshoot equipment.
• Manage production logs, inventory, and scheduling to meet delivery targets.
• Set up and operate production equipment in line with standard work procedures.
• Calibrate equipment using calipers, micrometres, gauges to ensure quality.
• Communicate with peers, engineers and management across departments.
