Leonardo in Edinburgh is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Technician to inspect and assemble microelectronic devices in a controlled cleanroom. The role requires precise verification against MIL-STD-883 and IPC standards, with high attention to detail and the ability to identify defects at component and assembly levels using high-magnification optics.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in mechanical assembly of diverse range of assemblies.
• Monitor and adjust production processes or equipment for quality and productivity.
• Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.
• Assist engineers in developing, building, or testing prototypes or new products, processes, or procedures.
• High level of dexterity.
• IPC 610/620 experience.
• J-STD soldering & wiring experience.
• Collect hazardous or non-hazardous waste in correctly labeled barrels or other containers and transfer them to collection areas.
• Experience in the correct use of compounds or substances in the preparation and cleaning of complex assemblies.
• Experience in working in clean rooms and understanding its importance to quality.

Aufgaben

• Work in a cleanroom environment to manufacture high-value, high-accuracy opto-mechanical, opto-electrical & electro-mechanical assemblies through various production processes.
• Perform inspection/assembly under a stereoscope/microscope and precision bonding (Radial/Fillet/OGP).
• Carry out PCA soldering.
• Assemble products in accordance with documented processes to time, cost and quality.
• Identify and pursue solutions to shortcomings with respect to production methods and documentation.
• Interpret and adhere to manufacturing planning.
• Maintain effective communication with Project, Quality and Engineering functions.
• Ensure standard handover procedures and effective communication across products.
• Manage designated 5s areas with daily/weekly/monthly sign-offs.
• Contribute to investigation of development methodologies and future directions at Leonardo.
• Most training provided on-the-job.
