Job summary

Placr Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician for a precision engineering manufacturer in Hailsham. The role focuses on assembling complex mechanical and electromechanical products from detailed components, following drawings and specs in a cleanroom.

You will work with hand tools and measurement instruments, ensuring accuracy and quality, with opportunities to participate in testing and documentation while maintaining a safe, organised workspace.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical assembly experience.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and assembly docs.
• Experience with precision components and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Assemble complex mechanical/electromechanical products from components to finished subassemblies.
• Interpret drawings and specifications to ensure correct fit and tolerance.
• Carry out fitting, alignment, securing and adjustment of components.
• Perform basic electrical wiring and electromechanical assembly where required.
• Maintain cleanroom procedures and contamination-control standards.
• Inspect components before and during assembly; report defects.
• Assist with functional testing and documentation for traceability.
• Collaborate with production, engineering and quality teams to resolve issues.
