Job description

JOB TITLE: Cleaning Team Leader

LOCATION: The Dolphin Centre Poole

PAY RATE: £13.18 per hour

SHIFT PATTERN: 4 ON 4 OFF (approx. 40 hours a week)

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

You will support the Soft Services Manager and Centre Operations Manager in the operational management of the contract, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. You will need to lead and engage with your team, work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment, and deliver cleaning and waste removal services. Our teams are motivated individuals committed to a friendly working environment.

This role includes tasks such as:

• Cleaning toilets and other areas, wearing the company uniform at all times to uphold the centre's professional image.
• Ensuring all cleaning duties meet our standards for quality and safety.
• Adhering to Dolphin & ABM’s Health and Safety procedures, taking personal responsibility for safety.
• Assisting with public safety measures, including evacuations.
• Completing assigned cleaning duties and suggesting improvements for working practices.
• Supporting colleagues proactively.
• Performing ad hoc duties as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading cleaning and waste removal teams within a retail environment.
• Cleaning and sanitizing lifts, mirrors, floors, and restrooms according to standards.
• Managing cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Monitoring sanitation and organization of areas.
• Assisting Centre Managers to ensure service quality.
• Providing training on cleaning equipment use.
• Responding promptly to spillages and client callouts.
• Communicating effectively with team and management.
• Wearing PPE and complying with health and safety policies.
• Supervising the team and acting as the point of contact in the absence of the Soft Services Manager.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and creating purchase orders via ABM Apps.
• Experience in a supervisory cleaning role.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Reliable, flexible, and proactive approach.
• Excellent English skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
