Job summary

Sodexo Ltd is seeking a proactive Cleaning Team Leader for the Mars manufacturing site in Castle Cary. This part-time role covers 15 hours per week with Saturday and Sunday shifts from 6:00am to 2:00pm, supervising the cleaning team to uphold high cleanliness, hygiene and safety standards.

You will work hands-on with the team, guiding new colleagues and ensuring tasks are completed safely and to required standards, while promoting a strong safety culture on site.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning or hygiene experience, ideally within a manufacturing or similar environment.
• Experience supporting or leading a team would be beneficial.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
• A hands-on, proactive approach to leadership.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Clear and confident communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and support others.
• A strong commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety.

Responsibilities

• Report any safety, quality, equipment or maintenance concerns promptly
• Support the day-to-day organisation and leadership of the cleaning and hygiene team
• Take a hands-on approach, working alongside the team to maintain high cleaning standards
• Promote a strong health and safety culture and Zero Harm Mindset
• Support the training, induction and buddying of new team members
• Monitor cleaning standards and elevate any concerns to the Cleaning & Hygiene Supervisor
• Manage PPE stock, including maintaining records, ordering and issuing supplies
• Help create a positive, collaborative one-team environment

Working Pattern: Saturday & Sunday 6:00am to 2:00pm

£20.10 per hour -The standard hourly rate is

£13.40, with a

time-and-a-half weekend enhancement, bringing the weekend rate to

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on

Cleaning Team Leader to join our team at the

Mars manufacturing site in Castle Cary.

Supporting the Cleaning & Hygiene Supervisor, you’ll help coordinate the day-to-day activities of the cleaning team, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety are maintained across the site.

This is a hands-on role, so you’ll work alongside the team while providing guidance, supporting new colleagues and helping ensure cleaning activities are completed safely and to the required standards.
