Job summary

Sodexo in the United Kingdom is seeking a Cleaning Supervisor to lead our cleaning team on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday, 11:00-19:00.

You will oversee staffing, budgets, health and safety, and maintain high standards of cleanliness to keep client environments welcoming and safe. This role requires strong leadership, organisation and a proactive approach to team development.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory role within the service industry.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to prioritise Tasks and manage resources.
• Experience working to standards and compliance requirements, with knowledge of health and safety and COSHH.
• Ability to carry out manual handling tasks safely.
• Good communication, leadership and team management skills, with experience managing client relationships.
• Cleaning qualifications, IOSH, knowledge of quality standards, or experience in a military environment would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and oversee all cleaning and housekeeping activities, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and service.
• Manage staffing, rotas, labour costs, stock ordering and budgets to support operational efficiency and site performance.
• Monitor health and safety standards, ensure equipment is maintained, and report faults or concerns to management.
• Lead, support and develop the cleaning team through regular briefings, meetings, training and performance reviews.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, customers and colleagues, working with other department managers to ensure smooth operations.
• Visit Reading ARC weekly to deliver mandatory training, provide equipment and oversee operations, while developing your own skills.
