Job summary

Priory Hospital Suttons Manor is seeking a Cleaning Supervisor to join our Site Support team on a permanent basis, working 35 hours per week. Shifts are typically 7am–5pm, Monday to Sunday, with flexibility to discuss preferred hours.

You will lead a team of cleaning staff, plan rotas, support recruitment and onboarding, monitor standards, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across the site. A great opportunity to contribute to high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising a cleaning team in healthcare or similar setting.
• Good English and basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Knowledge of health & safety, COSHH and cleaning standards.
• Strong communication and ability to motivate a team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of cleaning staff to deliver high standards across the site.

• Support recruitment, induction and ongoing development of team members.
• Monitor cleaning standards and ensure compliance with health & safety and statutory regulations.
• Manage stock, equipment and supplies, including ordering and stock control.

Priory Hospital Suttons Manor is looking to recruit a Cleaning Supervisor to join our team. This is a Permanent role working 35 hours per week.

We are happy to discuss your preferences for working days and hours, with shifts typically available between 7am–5pm, Monday to Sunday. That’s why our Cleaning Supervisors play a key role in leading teams to deliver high standards across our services.

Priory Hospital Suttons Manor is set in Stapleford Tawney, a village and civil parish in the Epping Forest district, near the town of Romford. The hospital is set in its own attractive grounds of over nine acres, which supports an amazing horticulture programme and grants access to an idyllic countryside landscape, which, by its very nature, promotes wellbeing.

Compensation: £13.95 / hour

What you’ll be doing

• Supervising a team of cleaning staff to deliver high standards across the site
• Planning and coordinating staff rotas to ensure continuity of service
• Supporting recruitment, induction, and ongoing development of team members
• Monitoring cleaning standards and ensuring compliance with health & safety and statutory regulations
• Managing stock, equipment, and supplies, including ordering and stock control
• Reporting maintenance issues, damage, or hazards

What you'll bring to the role

• Good standard of English, with basic numeracy and literacy skills
• Previous experience in a cleaning role, ideally within a healthcare or similar environment
• Experience within a hospital/hotel environment together with some supervisory experience
• Good understanding of health & safety, COSHH, and cleaning standards
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team positively
• Reliable, organised, and able to manage workloads effectively
• Good attention to detail
• Physical stamina to carry out an active role throughout the day
