Job summary

Sodexo Group is seeking a Cleaning Supervisor to join its team at Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK in Derby. This role involves leading a cleaning team on a large 580-acre site, ensuring consistently high cleaning standards across multiple facilities.

As a hands-on leader, you will motivate team members, conduct safety checks, perform cleaning duties, and support the manager in operations, promoting a clean and safe environment for all.

Cleaning Supervisor | Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK, Toyota Road, Derby, DE1 9TA

As a Cleaning Supervisor with Sodexo, you'll play an important role in supporting the delivery of a high-quality cleaning service across a large 580-acre site, supporting cleaners that work across 13 buildings at different times of the day.

You'll lead and motivate the cleaning team, making sure standards are consistently maintained across areas including restaurants, welfare facilities, corridors and offices.

This is a hands-on role where you'll combine team leadership with cleaning responsibilities, working closely with the Manager to deliver excellent service and maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for customers.

What you'll do
  • Lead, motivate and support the cleaning team to deliver consistently high standards
  • Take a hands-on approach, carrying out cleaning duties and covering staff where required
  • Walk the floor regularly to check standards and identify areas for improvement
  • Coach team members and provide feedback to improve performance
  • Assist with cleaning audits and ensure actions are completed
  • Carry out regular safety walks and hazard spotting activities
  • Ensure cleaning equipment is safe, secure and in good working order
  • Support compliance with Health & Safety, hygiene, fire and COSHH requirements
  • Complete required documentation, administration and cleaning records
  • Respond appropriately to incidents including accidents, fire, theft, loss or damage
  • Communicate regularly with the team through daily team briefs and weekly management meetings
  • Identify training requirements and support the delivery of regular team training
  • Ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained for the cleaning service
  • Support the Manager with labour planning and ensuring the operation is delivered within budget
  • Help create a positive working environment and maintain good team morale
