Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Cleaning Supervisor to support a client site with after-hours cleaning teams. The role focuses on supervising staff, maintaining high cleanliness standards, and ensuring safe, hygienic environments for occupants.

Training and performance management are key elements of the position. The ideal candidate will have prior supervisory experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage a small team, rota planning, holidays, performance, and deliver training to operatives.
• Oversee cleaning of floors, communal areas, stairwells and washrooms; assist with ad hoc areas.
• Conduct weekly cleaning audits and escalate any concerns.
• Order stock and consumables; update stock system and distribute to cleaning cupboards.
• Interact with customers/clients and communicate at all levels as needed.

About The Role

Hours per week: 5pm to 8pm – Five days over seven depending on business needs.

We are currently recruiting for a Cleaning Supervisor to support our client’s site.

At OCS, our cleaners play an important part in providing safe, clean environments in which our customers can thrive in their workspaces. As Supervisor, you will ensure that cleaning staff perform their duties efficiently, maintain high cleanliness standards, and contribute to a safe and hygienic environment.

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Managing a small team, looking after rotas, holidays, and performance and responsible for delivering training to all cleaning operatives and ensuring all records are updated correctly.
• Overseeing and assisting with the cleaning of the floors, communal areas, stairwells, and washrooms (plus other ad hoc areas).
• Responsible for conducting cleaning audits on a weekly basis and escalating any areas of concern.
• Managing the ordering of stock and consumables, updating the stock management system and also the distribution to cleaning cupboards.
• You will come into regular contact with customers/clients so it is important that you can assist them if needed and that you can communicate at all levels.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria

• You must have Right to Work in the UK.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
• You will be able to work to deadlines and prioritise.
• You will be required to undergo background screening prior to starting in this role.
