Job summary

Sodexo at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys is seeking a Cleaning Supervisor to lead a small team and maintain high standards of cleanliness across the site. The role is on-site, within a busy educational environment, and requires a practical, hands-on leader who can organise tasks and monitor daily operations.

You will ensure Health & Safety and COSHH compliance, assist with events, and work closely with management to continually improve cleaning services.

• Experience in cleaning, facilities or operational environments.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Proactive, hands-on approach with attention to detail.
• Ability to motivate and support a team to high standards.
• Commitment to delivering outstanding service in a busy school environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of cleaning staff to maintain exceptional standards across the school.
• Oversee daily cleaning operations, ensuring all areas are clean, safe and welcoming.
• Monitor stock levels and organise cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Support the smooth running of school events, assemblies and meetings.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH and safeguarding procedures.
• Work collaboratively with management to continually improve cleaning services and standards.
• Provide cover and practical support to the cleaning team when required.
