Job summary

Lancashire County Council’s Facilities Management Team is recruiting a Cleaning Operative to carry out cleaning duties at Carnforth Library, 65 Lancaster Road, Carnforth, LA5 9DZ.

The role is permanent, part-time (3 hours per week) with a start time between 08:00 and 09:00. The hourly rate is £13.45, and pro-rata pay will apply.

Experience is desirable but full training will be provided; a Foundation Living Wage is offered.

• Duties include general cleaning of facilities.
• Damp wiping, damp mopping, vacuuming and toilet cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Duties will consist of general cleaning tasks at Carnforth Library.
• Ensure high cleanliness standards and support the Facilities Management team.

Local Government Reorganisation

The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire from April 2028.

About The Role

The Facilities Management Team at Lancashire County Council are looking to recruit a Cleaning Operative who is required to carry out cleaning duties at Carnforth Library, 65 Lancaster Road, Carnforth, LA5 9DZ

The Facilities Management team is responsible for some for some of the most prestigious and iconic buildings in Lancashire. These buildings provide essential services to the community and vulnerable people.

High standards of cleanliness are expected and prior experience is desirable; however full training and ongoing support will be provided.

Duties will consist of general cleaning, such as damp wiping, damp mopping, vacuuming, and toilet cleaning.

This position is part time - please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful the salary received will be paid on a pro-rata basis. Therefore the hourly rate is £13.45
